Loft Conversion in Merton Gardens Petts Wood
Our customer based in Petts Wood sent us an email on our Website contact page. We met with the couple at their address in Petts Wood that week to discuss their requirements. The customer requested 2 bedrooms to a side dormer with 1 seperate bathroom to dormer with a front bay to the master bedroom. We took all the measurements and provided a quote.
After our quote was agreed, our architect began to draw up a draft copy of the drawings for the new loft conversion including all of the specifications.
Smiths of Bromley have been professional from our initial consultation with them to the finished article. Terry has patiently guided me through this process, his experience and technical knowledge have been vital throughout; listening to our brief and adding ideas to all the final build to be exactly what we specified.
All the tradespeople consulted by Smiths have been courteous, reliable, clean and all are clearly very experienced in their particular fields, giving us much confidence and enabling us to get on with family life.

Velux windows – Bathroom 800×1000 Bedroom 800 x 1000 all windows will be white UPVC with openers and vented
Bedroom – 2 bedrooms to side dormer , 1 separate bathroom to dormer plus front bay to master bedroom
Dormer – Dormer will be smooth render finish plus Redland plain
Roof coverings – New roof in Redland plain tile , re felt and batten main roof, flat roof will be in EPDM Rubber Bond finish which carry a 15 year Guarantee. And UPVC fascia’s and guttering to new dormer plus tile crown top to flat roof area and a 300 hang over on dormer floor plan with cladding under eve
Carpentry – Skirting to match existing and architraves, doors to loft are all new fire doors, smoke detector system to all landings and all habitable areas, storage doors to front slope
Plumbing – 2 radiator, 1st & 2nd fix plumbing and fitting of suite
Electrical – 1st & 2nd fix, and storage light to front storage area x2
Plastering – Plaster full loft areas and down to first floor ceiling and Landing area plus new wall by staircase
Lighting – 1st & 2nd fix, plus new spur to existing fuse board
Sockets – 4 double to be fitted per room where client decides
Scaffolding – Included as necessary 3 sides for works plus tin roof
Access to loft space – To the side roof for steels and timber
